MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Sgt. Janice Brown, President of CAWLE

In 2015, during Women's History Month, a pivotal question echoed in the mind of Sergeant Janice Brown, a dedicated member of the Chicago Police Department: "Why aren't women in law enforcement celebrated during Women's History Month?" Fueled by this inquiry and a passion for change, she embarked on a mission to bridge this gap, giving birth to the Chicago Association of Women in Law Enforcement (CAWLE) in 2016.

Sgt. Wilson-Brown is a board member of the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives (NAWLEE) and the International Association of Women Police (IAWP). Proudly, CAWLE was selected to host the 61st Annual International Association of Women Police Training Conference and Board Meetings in 2024. She is also a member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE).
