OUR LEGACY
Since our inception, the Chicago Association for Women in Law Enforcement (CAWLE) has been committed to supporting and advancing women in policing. Through key initiatives like the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) conference, the 30x30 Initiative, and the Band of Law Enforcement Mentors-Mentees (BLEM) program, CAWLE continues to break barriers, foster mentorship, and inspire the next generation of women in law enforcement. Our legacy is one of empowerment, leadership, and unwavering support for women in the profession.

Women's History Month Celebration
Every March, CAWLE proudly hosts an annual Women’s History Month celebration to honor the achievements and contributions of women in law enforcement. This event highlights the stories of trailblazing women, fosters community connections, and inspires future leaders in the field.
International Association of Women Police Conference
CAWLE’s active participation in the International Association of Women Police connects our members to a global network of women in law enforcement. Through conferences, training, and collaboration, CAWLE supports women officers in building skills, sharing experiences, and advocating for gender equality in policing worldwide.
30x30
Initiative
As part of the 30x30 Initiative, CAWLE is committed to increasing the representation of women in police recruit classes to 30% by 2030. This initiative reflects CAWLE’s dedication to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for women in law enforcement through policy changes, recruitment efforts, and professional development.
Band of Law Enforcement Mentors-Mentees (BLEM)
CAWLE’s Band of Law Enforcement Mentors-Mentees program provides critical support and guidance to women at all stages of their law enforcement careers. By fostering meaningful mentorship relationships, CAWLE helps members navigate challenges, develop leadership skills, and build lasting connections within the profession.
